POPE FRANCIS STATE VISIT AND APOSTOLIC JOURNEY IN THE PHILIPPINES

Pasig City, Philippines – Bienvenido Papa Francisco! January 15, 2015 the Holy Father, Jorge Mario Bergoglio or popularly known as Pope Francis whom his name derived from St. Francis of Asisi arrived at Villamor airbase, Philippines from Sri Lanka as part of his apostolic journey in Asia. At his arrival, thousands of Filipino welcomed him. He is full of passion to serve the poor in our country. He has this magical smile and aura that no one can resist. He’s own way of greeting his devotees is exceptional and admirable. His charm, his humility, simplicity is very unique that no one can deny that this pope can be love by all people regardless of what they’re religion and social class is. As part of my gratitude to this Pope who made me feel that he has mercy to all, and has compassion to help others. Let me tell you a poem that my Professor in Humanities assigned us to create. I’m not good in writing such poems or any literary work but I did my best to compose this, to show my love to this Pope that renewed my faith and taught me to love one another.

Pope in Survivors
God bless our nation for we have a generous pope
Let us guide him as he gives us a new hope
For him we should be fair but wise
To continue our life away to disguise

He said that we should be like him, humble
And be strong and stay for any storm
For he will come to us in faith with his teachings
Because he is the man destined with great preaching’s


Enkindle us Pope Francis with your love and compassion. We are very much blessed and honor for having you in our country. As you leave us, our prayers are with you.

The whole world has witness our devotion and faith from the time he arrived in our country, from his mass at Manila Cathedral, his Tacloban trip to greet the survivors of typhoon Yolanda (typhoon Haiyan), his talk at University of Santo Tomas (UST), his mass at Luneta Park, until when he go home to Rome.


May you bless us all Pope Francis, my family, my love-ones and all the Filipinos in whole world. Viva Santo Papa Francisco! Mabuhay ka Papa Francisco! Salamat at mahal ka namin! Gracias Lorem Franciscus Pontifex!

For us Filipino Catholics, simbang gabi is a traditional devotion of a nine-day novena mass held from December 16 to December 24 in anticipation to Christmas and to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary. He is recognized by our country for his contribution to the revolution but some scholars see him underappreciated. Proof here is the resolution passed by Manila City council thru, Manila councilor John Marvin "Yul Servo" Nieto last 29 November 2013 urging President Benigno Aquino III and the Congress to recognize Andres Bonifacio as the first president in the Philippines.
